ENGL 2089

During the Summer 2023 semester I took an honors section of english composition. All of our main assignments for the course revolved around discourse communities, reading about different ones, and applying the work by looking at discourse communities that we ourselves are apart of as well.

This class was a lot more than the assignments that we were required to complete. It was about getting in touch with our writing skills and the people around us to really show that these worlds can come together. The feedback I received from the professor truly helped me to think and do better throughout each assignment and are tips I will for sure keep with me throughout the rest of my education journey.

The discourse community that I wrote about was my on campus scholarship program the Darwin T. Turner Scholars program. For our final assignment, I wrote a paper (the pdf attached on this page) about the communication dynamics that we have in this community. The work done for this was actually really intriguing and I am so happy that I got to have this experience.
